Our Founder
Hi there, I’m Becky - Founder of the Sunflower Drama Academy. I’m a qualified primary school teacher, who has always been passionate about helping children with their personal, social and emotional development. That’s why I’m here - to help your child blossom in confidence through specially designed drama workshops.
What lights me up is watching children blossom and grow. From an early age I have volunteered with children in various settings, from working in residential camps to supporting children in Mexico. Throughout this volunteering I led a number of drama workshops. Prior to completing my teacher training, I studied Drama at Loughborough University. During my final year, I led drama workshops as part of my dissertation with the sole purpose of improving confidence and communication skills in children. Over a short space of time, it was clear as to how much the children’s confidence levels were improved. I was awarded First Prize for the Student Enterprise Award and since had always dreamt of turning this project into a reality.
So here I am! That is how the Sunflower Drama Academy began. Since then we have been delivering after school workshops to children and specialised drama workshops. All of our workshops have a ‘Sunflower Spotlight’ focus- which supports children’s personal/social/emotional development,
